Karunanidhi, who just few days back declared that ‘Ram is a myth‘, is a classic example of a politician who makes extensive use of the fact that ‘Public memory is short lived‘, to his greatest advantage.
This same chief minister of Tamilnadu Mr Karunanidhi, who today wants the Ram Sethu to be destroyed to build the Sethusamudram canal, had written a forward in 1972 to the district gazatteer of Ramanathapuram district saying “It reflects our civilization and is a mirror of the society“! In the gazetteer it has also been stated that “Lord Rama appointed Raja Rama Sethupathy of Ramanathapuram as Trustee and Guardian to guard the Rama Sethu Bridge“!
But today he says ‘Rama is a myth’, and so the Ram Sethu should be destroyed! Well, Karunanidhi is an atheist and also does not believe in God. So shall we go and destroy all the temples, churches and mosques in India?
What a name for what a man! Karuna that too Nidhi! For a person earning his livelihood by betting on the artificial Aryan-Dravidian divide, somebody please tell him that Karuna (Compassion) and Nidhi (Treasure) are Sanskrit words. All he knows is to win the elections by distributing freebies like television sets using the government money as if the money spent on it is his own.

Karunanidhi is just another mad dog like Bal Thackeray, Jayalalitha, Arjun Singh, Prakash Carrot, Burden (Bardhan) and the rest of the commie gang.
Ignore them all…

KARUNANIDHI CONTRADICTS HIMSELF
In 1972, Karunanidhi said, Ramsethu is symbol of India’s cultural Heritage.
Couple of year ago, referring to abduction by Veerappan, he consoled Dr. Rajkumar saying you went on Vanavas like Rama.
He along with his wife fell on the feet of Satya Saibaba to seek his blessings.
Two days ago he said, Rama never existed! Today he disputed himself by saying Rama was a drunkard!
His statement have no coherence because, he gets the script form VATICAN! Whatever he saying today is the voice of VATICAN. The real purpose is to turnt he heat from Sonia and prevent a possible national upraise and turn this in to an Arya-Dravida conflict.
When our beloved leader Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated, Congree pointed fingers at DMK saying it colluded with LTTE. Today Congress shares power with DMK because it didn’t matter to Sonia that DMK was a conspirator in the killing of her husband Rajiv Gandhi. She is not interested in Rajivgandhi. She stepped in to Rajiv;s life and in to India to pursue the agenda of VATICAN PARIVAR.
Therefore, Please don’t get carried away with Karunanidhi’s utterances, keep your attacks focused on VATICAN PARIVAR & Its agent in 10 Jan path

krishkundy,
It is natural for Human to contradict himself.
If there is one who does not contradict himself.
he should be dump, deaf and.. sorry.. he should be God ..
Similar to Gurudev, Karunanidhi also contradict himself lot many times… he tries to see from all sides of a coin… and argue for it.. so that the arguments on all sides get more and more refined.. unbiased investigation without prejudice leads to the truth.
Liju Phillip,
…then, we have to live in dream world. even then, commy gang occupies the dream.
Ignoring all of them
Gurudev,
Ram Setu controversy… brings back the great tradition of argumentative Indian .. So Far, Karunanidhi & Advani where playing their roles well and good.
Your points were excellent and takes Advani side in this article.. Good Going…

did Sonia Gandhi also contradicted to her then statement…
Or
Do they all think Public are fools watching this “Puppet Show”

Pandian
I agree that to contradict oneself is human.. but to contradict one’s own ideology, especially when its political opportunism, is hypocrisy.
Its like the left parties calling themselves representative of Karl Marx, Lenin and Mao, and doing things exactly opposite to the teachings of the red book.
Karunanidhi is unnecessarily giving a communal touch to this issue by bringing the focus on Ram than on Ramsethu by talking stupid things like “drunkard”, “degree certificate” and what not. Is he taking drugs lately?
If as you said, he is so unbiased let him tell the same thing about other Gods? That requires some real nerves, to ask degree certificates of other Gods.
Why was the initial path of Delhi metro rail altered later? Why nobody then talked like how they are talking about rationalism, economics, development, progress, Ram and Ram Sethu today?

Ambedkar & EVR,(recently watched periyaar movie, so), were the two great indians who fought against untouchability.
Unlike Ambedkar, who finally change his religion to Budhism, EVR continues to be with Hindu and he said that .. “A hindu can ask question against Hinduism, but a person from other religion cant.”
Dan Brown, can asks question about Christianity. that doesnt cause anything.
But if a hindu asks question against Christianity, or sonia to say the same as Karuna, its complete stupidity and would cause lots of issues.
I accept that… All they doing was politics.
also, I couldn’t draw a line, where India stands in calling itself “Secular Country”

Nice Info Pandian,
Even I will watch periyaar
If Karunanidhi had rationally spoken against anything nobody would have criticized him. There are hundreds of intellectual debates that have been going on in the Indian society, and nobody is making an issue out of it.
But asking stupid things like ‘where is Rama’s engineering certificate’ are the heights of insanity. Who on earth told him that Rama was an engineering graduate? And what is this all nonsense like ‘did I call Ram a drunkard like valmiki did?’. Has he ever read Valmiki Ramayana? Or was he himself high on liquor when he did?
Being an atheist is one thing, trying to prove his anti-hinduism is another thing. Will he be responsible for any subsequent riots that might follow because of his insane statements? These bloody politicians make statements and get away with it. Its the common man who suffers because of them.
There is a difference between rational debate in a scientific way VS abusive derogatory statements. Hurting religions sentiments is a punishable criminal offense by Indian Penal Code. Section 295 A says “Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of [citizens of India], [by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise], insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to [three years], or with fine, or with both”
Of course Dan Brown movie Da Vinci Code also caused a stir in India. See http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1537222.cms

I think asking for the head of Karunanidhi, is the funniest ever. Are we in stone-age?
September 23, 2007 at 9:43 am |
Yes,
Asking for the head of Karunanidhi is just the latest addition to the list of the funniest things that have been going on…
The list already contains items asking for the head of
Salman Khan for attending Ganesh puja (added just two days back to the list)
Tasleema Nasreen for writing a book
Sania Mirza for playing with shorts
danish cartoonist for drawing those cartoons
Salman rushdie for writing a novel

well, the story at the top mentions that Karunanidhi doesn’t believe in GOD, so if he shows green signal to shipping canal project, then he can also destroy all Indian monasteries as well. My objection is why we are comparing two different things in a same manner. Temples are the residence of GOD & our holy soul. And, Rama sethu was a bridge made by lord Rama to Rescue devi Sita. So, to achieve the target he made the path. And now if ( i am saying IF) we are benefited economically & on time saving basis without disturbing marine life as said project’s official website, then why we cannot go for this which can pave our path of development.
God always want our development. We believe lord Rama wandered many places of India, are we not going for construction according to our need? Or, should we think lord Rama would have used it, so leave it untouched?
I think, building a bridge by lord, itself explains we should pave our path of success removing obstruction(here sea, which was also creation of lord itself) if needed.
Oh!don’t think i am supporter of karunanidhi, i am just giving my rational view. And, i strongly condemn the words of him saying Rama is myth. You donot beleive in God-fine, but you have no right to play with people’s sentiments & beliefs.

Nikhil
Unfortunately all rational thiniking comes only when its Hinduism in question. Nobody dares to utter even a word when its about other communities.
Where was it when Delhi metro project had to change its path because there was a religious structure on the way?
How can you compare path walked by rama to a bridge built by Rama? Nobody is asking to declare the entire path travelled by rama as a heritage site. A heritage site is a place where something visible is there which can be felt by your senses. And the Ramsetu is one such site.
Dont you understand that cultural and heritage sites are more valuable for a country than newly built temples/other places of worship.
Doesnt the same rational thing talk about the increased risk of tsunami to the shores of kerala if sethusamudram canal is built? About the destruction of marine life forms in the seas? Being selectively rational is irrational dear
It has become a fashion in India to prove rationalism by opposing anything and everything that has to do with hindu sentiments.
September 23, 2007 at 3:08 pm |
Karunanidhi has gone mad..
First he says Ramayana was a fight between Aryan Rama and Dravidian Ravana. He forgets that Ravana was a brahmin.
Then he says Rama did not build the bridge. So it means Rama and his army swimmed across to Lanka.
But, finally he says Rama does not exist and Ramayana is a myth. Which means Ravana did not exist either and dravidian theory is a shit.
Isnt there any better leader in Tamilnadu?

Neither was “Ram a Harry Potter” nor were Tulsi and Valmiki ,Roweling. Karunanidhi and his ilk are just exploiting the ‘religion’ in the worst ever ’secular’ politics as it has been practiced of late. I at least do not recognize a Hindu as The Hindu who do not believe in Ram.” Jo Ram Ka Nahin Woh Kaam Ka Nahin”.
The stooge we have as PM should better reign his ‘ALLIES !?’. Sonia “Stop Torturing Ram.”
Jai Shri Ram.
Prudent Indian

There is no way that Sonia Or MMS (ManMohan Singh) can evade the responsibility for ‘hurting’ the sentiments of Billions. Affaidvit filed was a “deliberate and intended move”.

Karunanadhi is a rabid dog. The Dog does not think before he talks. He needs to be retired and put in an mental asylum.
In an secular country like India which is predominantly Hindu he does not even know the fundamentals of Hinduism especially when he is ruling a state that is pro Hindu.
Needless to say, the DMK government should be thrown out and Presidents rule be brought in.
Not even his partners (Congress) can control the rabid dog.
November 15, 2007 at 4:32 pm |
Hey,you say karunanidhi is a rabid dog. But he barked once only. But you in thousands are barking, no difference between you and him. When we are proud of country and our religion, why all of us trying to go abroad and settle there? Gandhi said all white men leave India, but we are interested to get foreign citizenship somehow. Recently the BJP MP tried to accompany one lady as his wife for some price. This is India, OH, God save us.
