A Democrat View – Terrorism and a Country
First it was one of the Democratic US Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, who said that if he became the US president, he would take the necessary steps to correct the currently wrong American strategy of war on terror saying..
“The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan”
He went on to say “If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will..”
A Republican View – Terrorism and a Religion
Now it is one of the Republican Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, who has said that the best way he can think of to deter a nuclear “terrorist” attack on the U.S. is to threaten to retaliate by bombing Islamic holy sites of Mecca and Madina !!
The War on Terrorism
As far as my knowledge goes.. terrorism has been a state policy of countries like Pakistan, which has been using terrorism as means to achieve its political goals and ambitions..
If there is no state support for any particular ideology, I dont think it is possible for that ideology to survive.. unless and until that state itself is in a civil war
So what is more important is to ensure that the roots of the problem are addressed.. and as I have said earlier the root lies in Pakistan, not in Mecca or Madina.. So I think Obama got it right..
Tom Tancredo is simply making the equation more complicated by introducing unnecessary variables into it..

US campaign without the word terrorism.. impossible
If this campaign is about pakistan, then in the next campaign, they would talk about Kashmir or Bangladesh..
For their politics, world becomes the playground..

Pandian
Yes agreed.. they create problems to dominate the world.. and then they try to solve those same problems again to dominate the world..
The initial funding and logistics support was provided by US for terrorists to fight the communist USSR in afghanistan.. and today they are fighting the same terrorists again in the name of the global war on terror…
As you said.. world has become a playground for them..

I kind of agree that the world has become a playground for us Americans. but I don’t agree that Pakistan is a terrorist state.
Most of the mainstream Pakistanis are historically speaking converted Hindus and have usually the similar thinking process. I see India and Pakistan as quarreling brothers. Indopak media are usually biased and fill reader’s brain with garbage for the other country. (same is true for both India and Pakistan)
of course the Pakistanis on the border of Afghanistan are exception to this (In fact the Britishers erred when they included those western mountain region into Pakistan because the people there have more similarities with afghans than Pakistanis) almost all people in that area are taliban friendly.
Regarding terrorism against India by Pakistan – I should say that Pakistan has been more successful than India in those activities – If we believe what Indian army is reporting, then they must have killed all of the terrorists, as they keep saying day by day that they killed this many numbers of terrorist that day etc. (add the current fake encounter inquiry) Also what authorities tell us about that Pakistan initiated all 3 wars is bullshit. In army attachment camp I attended In India, I was told by most in army that it was India who initiated all 3 wars. Also India didn’t win the second war. Otherwise shastriji wouldn’t have to go outside India to sign the treaty. (usually the defeated premier comes to the winner’s place of choice).
I am no way defending Pakistan here, but just wanted to point out that they are not that bad as portrayed by Indian media. Pakistan definitely have terrorists on their land and they need to do better job eliminating them, but I wouldn’t term Pakistan as terrorist state – just 60 years ago they were part of your country.
The terrorist list India have given to pakistan, similar list pakistan has given to india and you wouldn’t find any Indian media investigating into it.

Paresh
The common man on the streets of Karachi and Lahore is not a terrorist.. he likes to watch bollywood movies and listen to hindi songs.. I know that
But Pakistan is definitely a terrorist state .. It is a common misconception to think that when we say ‘terrorist state’ it means the people of Pakistan.. No.. its not that.. terrorist state means ‘the state’, ‘the administration’
In case of pakistan it is the pakistani military, ISI and the administration
Pakistan has been using terrorism as a weapon to create trouble inside India…
Take the recent lal masjid case for instance.. if not for the pressure from the Chinese govt due to the kidnappings of the Chinese engineers.. Musharaff would have never acted against the terrorists holed in there…
In fact the main leader who got killed in the lal masjid attack was supported by Benazir Bhutto when she was the prime minister…
Just google for Operation Topac and you will know Pakistan used terrorism as a weapon against India.. after realizing that they cant win against India in a conventional war..
The 1971 war was a clean sweep victory to India.. the first ever complete victory after world war II.. where 90000 pak soldiers surrendered to India..
I think it is utter nonsense to say that all three wars were started by India..
Read history please..
In the first war it was Pakistan which sent its army to occupy Kashmir and the Kashmiri Dogra king asked Indian help and only after that Indian army got into action…
In the 1965 war, it was the Pakistani miscalculation that India has become weak due to the Sino-Indian war of 1962 , and the Operation Gibraltar that lead to the war… the UN report clearly says on this that if the war had continued for even few more days Pakistan would have been the ultimate defeater..
Shastri went to Tashkent in USSR, not to Pakistan to sign the peace treaty.. USSR was an Indian friend… Pakistan was called there.. the war stopped due to external intervention…
About the 1971 war the whole world knows the reason… A democratic elections results were Sheik Mujibur Rehman of Bangladesh (then east pakistan) had won with a majoirty and was about to form the government irritate the Pakistanis.. So Yahya Khan, cancelled the election results.. as usual no democracy is there in Pakistan…
Angered by the cancellation of the election results.. Bangladeshis started mass protests.. and Yahya Khan sent more Pakistani army to crush the protests in Bangladesh…
As a result millions of Bangladeshis started flowing into India as refugees.. India had to act.. and Indira did act..
The result was the creation of Bangladesh as a separate nation…
What nonsense is this Paresh.. the terrorist list given to India by Pakistan.. that too only after India gave its list.. till then there was no concept of this.. and who are terrorist in that list.. can you even believe that India is having terrorists who are acting in Pakistan??
Whole world knows where is Daewood.. Pakistan officially denies he is there.. but Pakistani newspapers keep reporting about his whereabouts in Karachi.. the fights etc
The 60 years have made a lot of difference.. for most part of these 60 years there was no democracy in Pakistan.. so the fruit and vegetable vendors of Karachi whom you are talking about have no say in the political decisions…
Even today ISI prints fake Indian currency http://www.ibnlive.com/news/pakistans-big-business-minting-indian-money/44937-3.html
You are talking why terrorist is not crushed even if Indian military is killing so many terrorists.. well, terrrorists are the products.. we need to hit the source to kill terrorism.. the training camps.. the recruitments.. the fanatic madrasas inside Pakistan
See http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/10/07/wquake07.xml
They dont even leave the orphans of earth quake victims.. even those orphans get hired for Jehad…
And you say Pakistan is not a terrorist state!!

Hello Paresh?
whats your real identity man? not that i am questioning you, but just curious about who you are and what is your intelligence (IQ)? you sound more like a false pakistani propoganda (only loosers wage proxi wars). I am sure you are some anti-India guys for what ever reasons.
(by the way if that’s ur fake name, does it mean ur paresh rawal’s fan?) again I am not questioning…….
OO, I see that you say “Your Country..” that means your not an Indian… that also means you dont live in India. That also means you get the information on International news and media which can be as biased as one can make for their personal interest. typically untill the west was against India till it opened up its economy… so now i understand why u have soft corner for those pakis. You are blinded by their false propoganda. anyway dude, dig into fact. If India had started the wars why would we not occupy that ox dung pakistan once and for all and make them dance to our tune?? If they got seperated from us then its their choice and if they cannot tolerate our growth then thats their problem, but if they try to stop India then they will face more problems.
where in the world arms and amunition are sold in the street like vegitables? try to find the answer for ur self.
